Writing Justice on Our Hearts Poetry Project

We respond to an invitation by our poet in residence Jean Dany to join him in writing Haikus about the soul work that is required to work for justice and racial equality in the world.

Why are we so blind?

There is no justice in this blindness.

Justice is blind in theory.

Words are tools of power.

Actions speak louder than words of rage.

Speaking of love overcomes hate.

My heart is tender, fragile.

My soul aches for peace amid chaos.

My heart aches for all.

Dreams were magical journeys once.

Nights are long dark paths to daylight.

Dreams are hopes for tomorrow.

Fires are warm comfortable light.

Fires are passions burning from deep inside.

Fires kindle a loving heart.
